Breckenridge and Keystone give $500K to FIRC Food Market

Breckenridge and Keystone are committing a half-million dollars to the FIRC Food Market over the next two years.

“Breck and Keystone have been longtime supporters of the FIRC,” Breckenridge COO Jon Copeland says. “This is a critical resource for our community, and we are so excited for it.”

Copeland unveiled the award at the FIRC Night Out Culinary Challenge. It’s split into two awards of $250,000 each.

Breck’s parent company, Vail Resorts, will re-evaluate the award after two years. Copeland is confident it will continue.

“We’ll continue supporting that organization for sure,” Copeland says.

Demand at the FIRC food market has erupted recently. Five years ago, the market served about 200 families per month. Today it serves more than 500 families every week.

FIRC officials say, they will use this Vail Resorts money to stock the market with food families want, like fresh vegetables and quality meat from Colorado farms and ranches.
