As many folks head up to ski for the holidays, Margaret Bowes at the I-70 Coalition has one big tip for holiday travelers. Give the gift of carpooling. Margaret says, “Carpooling is absolutely one of the congestion reduction strategies that can have really immediate results.”
Every season, more ski resorts are hopping on board. They are supporting and incentivizing sustainable travel, specifically around carpooling. Keystone gives carpoolers front row parking at Montezuma Lot new this season. Copper is the stoke police. “They are rewarding carpoolers with priority list line access and early access to the mountain,” Margaret tells us.
New at Arapahoe Basin is mandatory paid parking reservations on weekends and holidays. ”Data shows that managed parking really does drive behavior. No one likes to pay for parking, but find a friend. Priority parking or parking discount and everybody wins.”
Those parking reservations at the basin will be mandatory for a week after Christmas, December 26th through January 1st.
