Summit keeps on getting the goods this ski season.
Since Valentine’s Day every corner of the county confirms at least 2 feet of snow. Frisco and Breckenridge are closer to 3 feet – 41 inches at Peak 8 – and just over the pass at Vail Mountain there’s 4+ feet (51 inches!).
In the past week local snowpack jumped 20 points, ballooning from 11 points below average on Feb. 12 to 9 points above average today.
Summit and the Upper Colorado River Basin remain the deepest in the state. Snowpack in the Yampa/White River Basin (Steamboat area) gained 14 points to creep above average. The Gunnison River Basin (Crested Butte area) jumped 13 points. Even Wolf Creek, where big totals have been nil to nada this season, grew 7 points.
