Breckenridge beats Aspen for best ski town in the U.S., according to USA Today, but Aspen beats Breck and the rest of the state for best ski resort.
USA Today compiled dozens of 10 Best lists for 2025 with help from readers and editors. They put Breckenridge at No. 5 on the list of “Best Ski Towns,” where North Conway New Hampshire – the gateway to Cranmore Mountain Resort – is No. 1 for its cog railway, rustic B&Bs, and proximity to New England metros.
Aspen Snowmass is the only Colorado Destination on the list of “Best Ski Resorts,” where Snowbasin, Utah is No. 1 for its mix of steeps and family-friendly groomers.
