Arapahoe Basin confirms we’ll have yet another season with nine months of skiing and riding.
Chairlifts at A-Basin are spinning daily through June 1 at least. After that, they’re making the call weekly, depending on coverage and conditions.
For the past two seasons A-Basin has closed the first week of June.
The longest season in recent years was 2019, when Black Mountain Express was spinning July 4.
Local snowpack today is 122 percent of average. It was 134 percent in 2019.
Two May storms are padding the snow totals at A-Basin: 22 inches this month, already six inches more than all of May last year. Pali Chair, Montezuma Bowl and the East Wall are still open.
Just over Loveland Pass, Loveland Ski Area closed May 12 on one of its better seasons in years. Loveland got 329 inches total this season. That’s 46 inches more than last season – nearly 4 feet!
Copper claimed the most snow in Summit with 352 inches total, just one inch more than 2023-2024 season snowfall at Breckenridge (351 inches).
