UPDATE 7:00PM
A fatal tanker fire on I-70 near Morrison this morning was likely sparked when an SUV hit the tanker from behind. The tanker was pulled over on the shoulder, Colorado State Patrol confirms via Twitter.
The collision ruptured the tanker, which spilled fuel into a nearby culvert. The two vehicles and culvert burst into flames. The driver of the SUV was killed. The trucker is hospitalized.
By 6:00pm both I-70 eastbound and westbound had reopened after crews were able to inspect the road for damage.

Interstate 70 is closed in both directions and has been for a couple of hours near Morrison due to a crash involving a car and a tanker that was broken down along the westbound shoulder.
The car slammed into the back of the tanker which caused a fire that engulfed both vehicles. As of 11:30am I-70 is closed both directions from the Genesee exit to one mile west of Golden.
