In The Classroom: Breck youth camp vet leaves to launch Echo Adventures

Today we are IN THE CLASSROOM with Corbin Forest. He’s the former youth camps director for town of Breckenridge, now leaving the town to launch a new summer camp, Echo Adventures

“Go, go, go, bring the fun,” is how Corbin describes his camp philosophy. “It could be clown school or sports or scavenger hunts or really anything. We’ll have weekly field trips, themes, educational programming, trying to avoid that ‘summer slide’ we see with local students.”

Corbin and another Breck alum, Cam Gui, launch Echo Adventures at Upper Blue Elementary this June. They have been working on the concept since 2020.

“I’ve been doing this for a while all over the country, North Carolina, Texas and all over Denver, (but) there was something always pulling me back,” Forest says. “I just had this in my back pocket, and I felt pretty confident that Cam and I could make this happen.”

Echo Adventures opens with staffing for 26 kids, but the program license and insurance give it room to grow. Corbin knows the county needs it – Breckenridge Mountain Camp would cap at 100 kids and still have 500 on a wait list.

“When you see those numbers, and a lot of those families are local (…) you know you have families that still aren’t getting spots in summer,” Forest says. “The thought was, ‘Why not us?’”

Corbin and Cam promise the same high-energy fun they brought to Breck, only now under a different roof.

“We truly know what it takes to run quality, safe programming for kids (…) someone that people can count on in the community,” Corbin says. “When people think our camp, we want them to think Corbin and Cam’s camp.”

Registration opens March 4 for camp starting June 9.
