The accolades keep coming for Summit High senior Ella Hagen.
Fresh off a second cross-country state title – her fourth solo title in three disciplines – Hagen was just named best all-around athlete in 2024 by Sportswomen of Colorado.
She joins Olympians, pro athletes and other elite high schoolers at the awards ceremony March 9 in Denver.
Hagen’s rival on dirt, Addison Ritzenhein of Niwot, was named 2024 best in the state for cross-country.
The two are now in the running for Sportswoman of the Year, announced at the March 9 awards.
By then, Hagen could have another state Nordic ski title under her belt. She has not missed the podium in four races and is currently ranked No. 2 in the state behind Isla Elton of Vail Mountain School. The two have dominated the competition in skate and classic.
In her low-key, modest way, Hagen told Krystal 93 that Nordic ski season is her “fun season,” when she gets to “relax.”
If gunning for ANOTHER state title is her idea of relaxing, she’ll be a force of nature when she joins the University of Colorado-Boulder XC team next season.
Big thanks to Marty Cesario of MTN-TV network for keeping us in the loop!
