Pedestrian struck, killed by Mustang in late-night crash near Breck 

A 59-year-old Colorado Springs man was killed last night when he stepped in front of a Ford Mustang on Highway 9 north of Breckenridge. 

Colorado State Patrol confirms the fatal incident happened just before 10 p.m. across from Revett Drive near Tiger Run Resort. The victim was crossing the highway. 

The driver of the Mustang, a 35-year-old Black Hawk man, remained on scene and cooperated with state patrol. He told troopers he braked as soon as he saw the victim, but it was too late. 

Initial investigation shows the victim was at fault. He died on scene. 

The victim’s name and age are pending through Summit County coroner. Results of drug and alcohol screenings are also pending for both men involved.
