This year’s A-Basin Enduro on Wednesday, April 8, is raising money in memory of Dave Pickett-Heaps, the longtime Summit local killed earlier this month in an avalanche at Boss Basin.

Says the team at A-Basin, Dave’s wife, Kaileen, is a “beloved part of the A-Basin community.” She is exactly the kind of person this 10-hour Pali Chair ski-a-thon was made to support.
The Enduro, now in its 37th season, is already sold out, but you can still raise money and support the cause at the Enduro Apres Party. Go cheer on the teams when they load their first chairs at 7 a.m., and then come back to party into the night when they’re finished at 5 p.m.
This year’s Enduro also supports Todd Hanson, a longtime A-Basin employee recently diagnosed with pancreatic cancer. His co-workers say he “continues to face this fight with the same grit, humility and strength that define him both on and off the mountain.”
