Free food and bike tunes at 7 pit stops for Summit County Bike To Work Day

Trade the gas pump for pedals tomorrow, June 24, on Bike To Work Day in Summit County, celebrating 12 years of riding your bike to the office, errands or wherever.

Every local town is getting in on the action with seven pit stops in every corner of the county. Most are located right off the recpath and all of them have freebies, including food, swag and basic bike tunes with local bike techs.

Pit stops are open from 7:30 a.m. to 10 a.m. Stop by any time, but if you want the best and freshest giveaways, try to get there earlier in the morning.

One of our favorites is the Dillon pit stop on the recpath behind Dillon Amphitheater, where the vibe is high, the music is loud and a furry mascot patrols the route, Tour de France style, cheering on cyclists as they cruise the lakeshore.

Here is the complete list:

  • Frisco – Frisco Historic Park on Main Street
  • Frisco – Upper level of County Commons (below the hospital)
  • Breckenridge – Blue River Plaza on Main Street
  • Dillon – Recpath behind Dillon Amphitheater
  • Silverthorne – Outside of the Silverthorne Pavilion
  • Summit Cove – Recpath at Swan Mountain Road and U.S. Highway 6
  • Keystone – Recpath at Homestead Circle and Keystone Road

And a big thanks to Summit County Bike To Work Day sponsors:
