Common Spirit, formerly Cantura Health, is clashing with Anthem Blue Cross Blue Shield
By May 1, Common Spirit and St. Anthony Summit Hospital might no longer be in network. Hundreds of local patients with Anthem could lose coverage for doctors and even the emergency room in Frisco.
One exception is Peak One Surgery Center. In a Facebook post, Common Spirit says the surgery center has a different contract with Anthem and will remain in network.
The April 3 post by St Anthony Summit Hospital suggests this healthcare clash is over pricing and money, saying, “Anthem is one of the most profitable insurance companies in the United States, while Common Spirit’s revenues are invested back into our communities.”
Negotiations between the two are ongoing.
