A suspect is now in custody for this morning’s fake bomb threat at Summit High School.

Authorities traced the call to Adams County, over 120 miles away on the Front Range. Summit County sheriff’s deputies made the arrest there. The suspect has not been identified.

Other deputies spent the day patrolling Summit High. The suspect called the district and threatened violence, mentioning bombs and firearms.

An investigation found no suspicious objects at the school, and no immediate threat to students.

This is one of several fake threats made against schools in Summit and neighboring counties this year. Earlier this fall an Eagle County teenager was arrested for threatening violence against Battle Mountain High School in Edwards.
