Today there is snow at 9,000 feet. By Friday you could be sailing on it.
Both Lake Dillon marinas are open in time for the Memorial Day holiday. Frisco Bay Marina opens Friday, May 23 with powerboat and paddle rentals, plus food and drinks at the Island Grill.
Friday is also the first day of paid parking at the Frisco marina lot. Your first half-hour is free. After that it’s $1.25 per hour up to $12 max. Season passes are still available for $103.50, although they don’t guarantee you a spot – just a little peace of mind for marina regulars.
On the north end of the lake, Dillon Marina opens for rentals on Saturday, May 24. The dockside Tiki Bar is back, along with regular regatta racing, guided tours and the popular “Women and Wine on the Water” evening cruises. New this year: You can’t bring a grill onto a rented boat.
Reservations at both marinas are open now for the entire summer.
Lake Dillon is filling up slower than usual with recent chilly weather. Denver Water says it is 86% full today and expects it to fill completely by early July.
By Friday the forecast is calling for the bluest skies and warmest temps in over a week.
