Hot dogs, a drone and good times at Silverthorne’s National Night Out

Silverthorne Town Hall was the place to be this Tuesday when police invited you to enjoy a cookout and learn a little more about what happens behind the scenes at a police department.

Dozens of locals stopped by to meet chief Alice Cary, sit behind the wheel of a patrol car, learn more about police equipment, and see an aerial drone in action. They came by car, bike and foot, and were joined by several town council members.

Silverthorne’s cookout was part of the National Night Out, an annual community event hosted by thousands of police departments across the U.S. Says the town, National Night out builds “police-community partnerships and neighborhood camaraderie to make our communities safer and more caring places to live.”
