Krystal Media owner and president Roger Ogden will be inducted into the Colorado Broadcasters Association Hall of Fame this October. The award honors “the extraordinary individuals whose talent, leadership and dedication have left an enduring mark on broadcasting in Colorado.”
Ogden says, “This is quite an honor. Colorado has always been at the center of my broadcasting career. What I have loved most is the people I have worked with to produce excellent journalism and great storytelling. It gives me great joy to continue my work with an incredible group of people in Summit County working to make our three radio stations among the best in the nation.”

Krystal 93 General Manager Lindsey Cotton says, “Roger has been an incredible mentor. He has had an iconic and long career in radio and TV, and to this day he is the fearless leader of Krystal Media. In a time when independent radio is struggling across the media landscape, he has led our team to thrive in the mountains of Colorado.”
Krystal 93 has been independently owned since it went on the air in Summit County in 1988, and Ogden has since added C-Rock 103.3 and 93.1 Summit Country for our listeners. Ogden’s broadcasting career spans 6 decades, starting with a radio career at the age of 13 at KPOF. He worked at radio stations KLIR and KBTR while attending the University of Colorado. He later held management positions at WLKY-TV (Louisville, Ky.) and KBTV-TV in Denver (now KUSA), including vice president and news director. He joined KCNC-TV as general manager in 1981. Ogden’s career then took him to London as managing director of NBC Europe in 1995. He then returned to Colorado as General Manager at KUSA. In 2005 he became president and CEO of Gannett Broadcasting. Ogden then retired in 2007.

Ogden has been named CBA’s Broadcaster of the Year in Colorado three times:1984, 1994 and 2021 (pictured above with the Krystal team on award night, 2022). Other Hall of Fame inductees for 2026 include Alan Berg, Peter Boyles, Bob Gourley, Stu Haskell, Steve Kelly, Bob Martin, Reynelda Muse, and Ron Zappolo. The induction ceremony will be held Friday, October 23 at The Dome at AMG in Greenwood Village.
