Mountaintop Matrimony: Describe your sweetie as a ski run at Loveland

For over 20 years it’s been a tradition at Loveland. On Valentine’s Day dozens of couples gather for a wedding ceremony on the slopes at 12,000 feet, decked out in ski boots, jackets, veils and boutonnières.

First Chair Friday crashed the party with one question for our Loveland lovebirds: How would you describe your partner… as a ski run?

I would say he’s smooth and soft.

She’s like a sneaker powder run, just full of fun and surprises.

She’s a perfect double black diamond — challenging and worth the effort.

He’s my green. Easygoing and willing to do anything.

– Jack and Julia, Denver CO, married today

Molly is hot and fast!

Pete would be a pro bump run. He’s a World Cup bump run.

– Pete and Molly, Golden CO, married today

She was a very difficult trail to catch.

He’s smooth.

– Ken and Barbie, East Coast, married 52 years (joined by their flower girls)

Wilson is my blue run. He’s my safe space. I can always cruise a blue with him.

As a more novice skier, I really value safety and comfort, and that’s Emily.

– Emily and Wilson, Evergreen CO, married today

A beautiful, steep blue on a powdery day, and you get to the bottom and you’re like, “That might have been a black.”

A nice, cruisy groomer on a bluebird day, top to bottom.

– Patrick and Emily, Arvada CO, not yet married (they’ll be back next year)
