Pink volleyball and Tigers Tailgate are coming to Summit High

Summit High School athletics is giving you two ways to support your team and do good this October.

Dig Pink 2025

First up is the Dig Pink volleyball game on Tuesday, Oct. 14, when the Lady Tigers host Rifle. The home team is raising money and awareness for Side-Out Foundation, which funds research and free testing for late-stage breast cancer.

“It is going to be a memorable night with great volleyball, fun games, a bake sale and, most importantly, it’s for a great cause,” Summit coaches tell Krystal 93. And even if you can’t make the game, you can still support the cause online

Lady Tigers volleyball (7-9 overall, 2-3 league) is riding a hot streak right now with three consecutive victories. They’ll need to dominate late this season for a playoff bid.

October is Breast Cancer Awareness month across the nation. Right here on Krystal 93 our own Amanda Giles is sharing her story of discovery, treatment and recovery. Tune in every Saturday and Sunday afternoon this month to hear from Amanda and her treatment team, including the doctors and nurses she sees every week.

Tigers Tailgate

Nothing says football like a tailgate party. For the first time in a long time, Summit is hosting an official pre-game tailgate bash on Friday, Oct. 24 before the homecoming game against Conifer.

Party starts at 4 p.m. in the high school parking lot. Play cornhole, grill out and enjoy the cool fall weather up until kickoff at 7 p.m. Stick around for the halftime show with homecoming royalty candidates.

Tigers football (1-4 overall, 0-0 league) has struggled early this year but hopes to claim a win at the first league matchup this Friday for Conifer away. Summit head coach Paul Lopez knows this team will never quit, telling Krystal 93, “that is something you can’t teach.”
