Six. Six is a magic number for Krystal 93 this year. That’s the number of times in a row that we’ve won Station of the Year at the Colorado Broadcasters Association Awards of Excellence. Across the state of Colorado, stations from small, medium and large markets submitted their work for peer review. This year Krystal 93’s Station of the Year award came from a cumulation of points from our team’s gems from 2025.

Amanda Giles won for Best Community Service Campaign, “Breast Cancer & Helping Others”. Amanda felt it was important to share her personal diagnosis of breast cancer and the journey through treatment to make sure others could gain insight through her experience. It created a great dialogue and resource for people living with breast cancer or knowing someone who has been diagnosed.

Radio veteran Tom Fricke (almost 24 years with Krystal 93) should have had a wheelbarrow for his awards haul! He won the coveted overall Station Personality award across all medium markets. He also won Best Morning Show, Best Regularly Scheduled Entertainment Program for “Before Your Time”, Best Station Imaging Campaign, “Father’s Day – Thanks, Dad”, Best Radio Podcast for “Krystal 93 Snow Show”, and Best News/Talk Show Team with Phil Lindeman.

Phil also won for Best News Feature, “Housing Goes COLD” and Best Live Remote Broadcast for “Krystal 93’s Brand of a Rebrand: Fun, Games and Karaoke”. When it was announced Krystal 93 had won Station of the Year, Phil had the honor of accepting the award. Phil gave kudos to the team and then he said, “I’m still shocked they let an old newspaper guy stick around for this long. Pretty great to be part of such a long winning streak!”

Lindsey Cotton, Krystal Media’s General Manager, says the key to Krystal’s success is all about connection. “What makes us different is that we are truly local. We live, work and play in Summit County and that love of community comes through pretty much everything we do. We’re fortunate that our work family has been together for so long… including TJ, who’s been with Krystal the longest — more than 25 years. He does a brilliant job programming Krystal 93’s music. We’re proud to be under the same local ownership for 39 years, and to be bringing such a great service to our listeners every single day across all three stations – Krystal 93, C-Rock 103.3 and 93.1 Summit Country.”
