The good times roll on at 9,000 feet in Summit this week with a pair of local favorites for Mardi Gras.
On Tuesday, Feb. 17 – aka Fat Tuesday – Keystone holds the annual Mardi Gras Party and Gumbo Cook-Off at Warren Station. Local restaurants and a few private chefs are cooking up vats of gumbo to warm your soul. Bourbon Street Hurricanes and local favorite, Hazel Miller, keep the party going until closing time.

The Keystone Mardi Gras Party gets started 3 p.m. at Warren Station with gumbo tasting. Music begins at 3:30 p.m. and continues until 5 p.m. Gumbo is served until then, or until it is gone. Don’t forget to vote!

Tickets are $12 for adults and $5 for kids in advance. You’ll pay a little more at the door.
On Saturday, Feb. 21, Frisco welcomes the Mardi Gras 4Paws benefit parade on Main Street. Dozens of costumed dogs stroll down Main raising money for a neighboring pet rescue, Hope for Animals – Clear Creek Rescue.
Join the parade for $20. You can sign up now or do it onsite, starting at noon on Feb. 21 near the parade start at Third and Main. The price is the same. The parade gets marching at 12:30 p.m. At 1 p.m. is the awards celebration for King and Queen of the parade, plus a “Belinda’s Best” category to commemorate the late Belinda Griffin, who inspired this event.
