EVs are gaining ground in snowy Summit.
Atlas Public Policy claims 1,005 electric vehicles are registered in Summit County this year. That puts us at No. 5 on the list of most EVs per 1,000 residents.
Coming in at No. 1 is Pitkin County, home to Aspen, with 735 registered EVs. One in every 23 people there own a battery-powered car.
Behind Pitkin is Boulder County with 15,422 EVs, just barely fewer than Douglas County with 15,602 EVs but a larger population.
Denver has the most total EVs in Colorado with 26,794.
HC3 EV test drive
High Country Conservation Center is partnering with town of Frisco for a free EV test-drive event. Get behind the wheel of an electric car and grill the HC3 staff on pros, cons and cost. They will even tell you how to get the most from EV rebates offered by Colorado and manufacturers like Tesla.
The HC3 EV test drive event is Saturday, Sept. 21 from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. at the Frisco Adventure Park.
Forest is calling for wet weather, maybe even September snow. What better way to test drive a Tesla in the mountains?
