Summit donations make it to North Carolina

Our listeners really stepped up their giving game in October when the former owner of Silverthorne Powersports, Mike Stoveken, launched an effort to help victims of Hurricane Helene in North Carolina. Glen and Mary Lynn donated a trailer to give to a mother and daughter who lost their home and were living in a tent. Mike asked Krystal 93 and others to get the word out to help filling the RV with winter clothing for other folks hit hard by the hurricane. AND YOU DELIVERED! In a flurry of heartfelt giving, Summit residents dropped off all sorts of warm winter gear to be loaded in the RV at Silverthorne Powersports. Your donations made it to North Carolina this past weekend.

Stoveken writes, “Thanks, Krystal 93, for doing mentions about what we have been doing! I got a ton of texts and calls from folks saying that they heard them.”

This great story also aired on 9News with our friend, Matt Renoux, and that inspired some folks to donate THEIR RV as well, so a second round of winter donations will be happening soon to load up and send to North Carolina. We’ll keep you posted!
