Americans spend a ton of time in our cars. AAA says 95% of us with a license get behind the wheel at least once a week, spending about one hour per day on the road.
But do you love the one you’re with? Two reports from auto watchdogs claim to know the brands we love most – and the two don’t exactly agree.
According to S&P Global, of stock market fame, Ford is our favorite brand. More than half of Ford owners keep coming back. When they do, they are buying a Ford Expedition or F-series truck.
Chevrolet and Honda also enjoy brand loyalty rates over 50%, the S&P survey says. Topping the luxury list are Tesla, Mercedez-Benz and BMW.
But according to J.D. Power’s 2024 loyalty survey Toyota is the most-loved make in the U.S. with a 62.5% loyalty rate. Honda and Subaru lead the SUV category.
Both surveys agree on the truck category, where Ford again leads the market.
