One person fled the scene of a car crash in lower Wildernest this morning just before dawn.
Summit County Sheriff’s Office confirms the unidentified person led deputies on a brief foot chase before he was caught and taken to the hospital, along with one other victim in the wreck.
Their injuries are unknown. No other vehicles were involved. Authorities confirm the man who ran is wanted for an unspecified warrant.
The sheriff’s new K9 unit, Minka, sniffed the wrecked car for drugs and found nothing.
Colorado State Patrol is looking into what caused the crash.
