Haiku at the Frisco Historic Park? Yes please.
This Sunday, Sept. 6, Frisco is hosting a poetry pop-up at the historic park on Main Street. From 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. local poets will write you a personalized haiku, for free, dreaming up the best 5-7-5 combination on the fly. They’ll be doing it all on vintage typewriters – actual printed paper! – so you can take it home to frame.
Summit County Library will be there with books of poetry to borrow. Don’t have a library card? No problem, they’ll get you signed up right there on site.
This is the final event in the Frisco pop-up series. All summer it has delivered unique experiences to the heart of town, like stargazing with Astro Mark, bird watching with local bird experts, and World Knit in Public Day, where local artisans covered aspen trees in custom “socks” – like knitted graffiti for trees.
