One person is in custody following a multi-county, high-speed pursuit over Hoosier Pass.
Witnesses tell Krystal 93 a truck was speeding north on Highway 9 through Blue River, toward Breckenridge, when it lost control and careened into trees near Blue River Road.
Summit County Sheriff’s Office confirms the chase originated this morning in Teller County as a domestic violence report. The unnamed suspect was driving solo, leading authorities from Teller into Park County and finally into Summit, where the suspect wrecked and was taken into custody with injuries.
Residents in Blue River were put on lockdown at 11:53 a.m. A countywide mobile alert said, “individuals within this area are at immediate risk of a dangerous and possibly armed suspect. Lock your doors and windows and remain indoors until further notice.”
The lockdown was lifted at 12:53 p.m.
Highway 9 through Blue River remains closed for investigation. No estimated time for reopening.
