The Salt Lick trail system is one of our favorites at Friends of the Dillon Ranger District. We’re planning a big summer of work on these trails to clear corridors, improve trailheads and improve drainage.
The trails began at the Salt Lick trailhead off of Ryan Gulch Road in Silverthorne. They’re a great escape near town and easily accessible. Follow the aspen groves for a not-so-secret fall color hike.
Be sure to take a map or download a map on your phone, as there are lots of trails in this network that make it fairly easy to get turned around. We recommend using CO Trex as your backcountry map app. This is a multi-use trail system. Please respect all trail users. – Rob at Friends of the Dillon Ranger District
