Buying a place in Breckenridge keeps getting more expensive.
The average home price is $2.8 million this year, according to Altitude Realtors. That is a half-million more than last year at this time.
But skyrocketing prices are not hurting the Breck home market. Through October the market is trending 15% better than last year, from 132 sales to 152 sales, for $427 million in total sales, an increase of 23%.
Breck alone represents nearly one-third of all sales in Summit, Grand and Park counties.
Silverthorne goes ice cold
Slowing to a crawl is the once-hot Silverthorne home market.
Average home price this year is a record-high $2 million but sales are down 25%, from 101 sales last year to 75 sales this year.
Silverthorne is the only local market except Keystone and Copper where this year is not doing better than last year.
But comparing those three is not apples to apples. Keystone fell from 19 home sales last year to 14 this year. Copper fell from two to one.
