An untold number of people were detained today during a second consecutive round of Federal immigration stings in Summit County, this time from work sites and town-owned apartments.
Krystal 93 cannot confirm exactly how many people were detained locally. Multiple calls to the U.S. Immigration and Customers Enforcement, ICE, field office in Denver were not returned.
Video and eyewitness reports verify detainees were all men. Most were taken from Silverthorne and Dillon before 9 a.m., when detainees were heading to work or already on the job.
One video showed an agent with “Police” on his vest roughly handling a man in zip ties at Smith Ranch apartments.
Another video showed construction workers fleeing into the woods west of Silverthorne. The unidentified man in the video said he was on the roof and had no time to remove his tool belt before fleeing.
Yesterday, another video showed one man in zip-ties being led to an unmarked vehicle in Dillon Valley. That is where Federal agents first appeared on Sept. 16, when they raided a duplex in Dillon Valley and a Mexican restaurant in Frisco.
