One person was killed last night when a Jeep Cherokee slammed into the back of a semi-truck between Silverthorne and Frisco on westbound I-70.
Colorado State Patrol reports the lone victim was a 41-year-old Frisco man. His name has not been released, pending identification through Summit County Coroner.
Troopers believe the victim was traveling uphill on I-70 directly behind the semi when he failed to stop and slammed into the semi’s trailer at highway speeds. He was killed on scene.
The driver of the semi, a 42-year-old Thornton man, was not injured.
