Your Colorado ski season just got extended, again.
Arapahoe Basin is open for skiing and riding through June 9. COO Al Henceroth breaks the news on his blog this morning, saying chairlifts are running daily through June 2. After that it is weekends only, Friday through Sunday, until A-Basin’s new closing day June 9.
With mild weather, Henceroth says A-Basin might extend beyond June 9 into Father’s Day weekend June 14-16.
Last season A-Basin closed on June 4.
This doesn’t mean you’ll have the whole mountain. Closed for the season are Pali Chair and Beavers Chair, plus the East Wall hike-to terrain, Zuma Cornice and West Zuma.
A-Basin reports one inch of new snow overnight May 20. National Weather Service predicts another one to three inches above 11,000 feet today.
Local snowpack in Summit County is 23 points above average today.
