Fireworks? Who needs em!
Summit County celebrates 250 years of U.S. independence and 150 years of Colorado statehood this Fourth of July weekend with a fire ban – no fireworks or campfires allowed – but plenty of explosive action in every corner of the county.




Stars and Guitars | Keystone, July 3
Live music is rocking River Run Village on July 3 when the free Stars and Guitars festival returns, now as an evening festival.
See two high-energy cover bands, The Goonies and Groove Motion, starting at 5 p.m. You also have Salida Circus and face painting for kids. When the music wraps stick around for a drone show over the village around 9:15 p.m.
Beatles tribute at Dillon Amp | Dillon, July 3
Three (!!) nights of music at Dillon Amphitheater starts July 3 with Yesterday, a Beatles tribute act. This one is a paid show. Gates open at 4:30 p.m.
Shwayze at Rainbow Park | Silverthorne, July 3
Silverthorne’s July First Friday brings a free concert with Shwayze to Rainbow Park next door to the rec center. Opener Settle Down plays from 6-7 p.m. You also have food, crafts and a local food market. Get there early to claim a spot – this one will be packed.
Independence Day Parade and Firecracker 50 | Breckenridge, July 4
Breck’s July Fourth bash is back with races, parades and tons of fun for everyone. There is almost too much to list!
It starts early at 7 a.m. with the Independence Day 10k trail run, now with a Main Street start line. Claim your spot early for the parade and watch mountain bikers leave for the Firecracker 50 at 9:30 a.m., conditions pending for smoke haze. As of July 2 the race is still a go.
The Main Street parade starts at 10 a.m. The National Repertory String Quartet plays Blue River Plaza at noon, and the full NRO plays the Riverwalk at 7 p.m.
The second local drone show of the weekend flies over Main Street at 9 p.m.
Lakeside Village Fourth of July | Keystone, July 4
The new-ish town of Keystone throws its first July Fourth bash at Lakeside Village. Stop by from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. for a bounce house, kid’s games and live music by Chris Bauer Trio. Another local favorite Randall McKinnon plays from 2:30 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Frisco’s Fabulous July Fourth | Frisco, July 4
Frisco brings a kids’ fishing derby (sold out), pancake breakfast, parade and even more live music on Saturday.
The pancake breakfast starts at 8 a.m. to help the athletes of Team Summit ski club. The Frisco parade is an afternoon affair starting at 1 p.m. on Main Street, followed by a free concert with Frisco Funk Collective at 4 p.m. and The Motet at 5:45 p.m.
NRO at Rainbow Park | Silverthorne, July 4
The Fourth of July Spectacular brings a local favorite back to Rainbow Park in Silverthorne with live orchestral music by the National Repertory Orchestra. This year’s pops program features selections from John Williams, John Philip Sousa, George Gershwin and… Kenny Loggins?? You have to hear it to believe it! The NRO takes the stage at 10 a.m.
101st Army Band at Dillon Amp | Dillon, July 5
The second concert at Dillon Amp features the 101st Army Band playing a patriotic set for free. Gates are at 5 p.m. for music at 6 p.m.
Queen Nation at Dillon Amp | Dillon, July 6
If you’re not too exhausted, come back to the Dillon Amp on Monday for the free Mountain Music Mondays concert with Queen Nation, playing Queen covers. Gates at 5 p.m. for music at 6 p.m. Frisco Funk makes its second big appearance of the extended weekend as the opener.
