First Friday locals’ party sets new record with $47K in donations

The First Friday Locals’ Appreciation party on May 2 was the biggest in history.

Together with the town of Silverthorne, Local’s Liquors raised $47,000 for six local nonprofits: ARISE, Celebrate the Beat, Gore Range Gravity Alliance, Summit Pet Food Pantry, Summit Pre-Collegiate and the Treetop Child Advocacy Center.

The annual boozy bash has been growing almost every year for seven seasons with an undeniable hook – free beer, wine and liquor tastings from local and regional favorites. All they ask in return is a donation at the door.

For the first time this year they sold commemorative tasting glasses for an extra $50. Seems like it added up.
