Your old Christmas tree deserves better than the landfill.
How about bonfire fuel?
Town of Frisco is taking Christmas trees through Feb. 7, when they are burned at the annual Spontaneous Combustion bonfire and fireworks show. It’s the grand finale for the Frisco Gold Rush, the oldest Nordic ski racing series in the state.
Simply drop off your tree at the Frisco Bay Marina dirt lot near Main Street and Summit Boulevard. Be sure to strip it of tinsel and lights.
In Dillon, take your tree to the Dillon Amphitheater parking lot. In Breckenridge, drop it off at the Stilson Lot near the Wellington neighborhood. Both towns will take your trees for free and recycle them for mulch.
