The First Friday Film Fest is back for a second season and Silverthorne wants to see what you’ve got.
The town is now accepting submissions from local filmmakers for the October festival. It doesn’t matter if you are an industry pro or simply shooting on a GoPro, the film fest is a local’s-only showcase for action sports, drama, nature, music and more.
There are two rules:
- Films must be 3 to 5 minutes long
- Films must relate to Silverthorne, Summit County or life in the mountains
Submissions are due by Sept. 19 (more dates and guidelines online) and judged by the town events committee. Festival selections are notified by Sept. 26 for screening at the Silverthorne Pavilion on Friday, Oct. 3.
All festival selections are eligible for a “people’s choice award” of $300. Votes are cast that night and the winner takes home cash on the spot.
