The snow just keeps on coming and has caused major road trouble. There were multiple closures on I-70, with the latest around 11:45 am along I-70 eastbound near Copper Mountain due to an accident, and also I-70 eastbound near Herman Gulch also due to an accident. The Herman Gulch incident started to clear up around 12:30 pm. I-70 eastbound near Copper Mountain finally reopened around 1:15 pm.
The National Weather Service issued a Winter Storm Warning which means areas west of the Continental Divide and in Summit County could get between 6 and 12 inches of snow, with the heaviest snow falling above 9,500 feet. The storm warning runs from 9pm this evening to midnight Saturday night.
The hardest hit area will be east of the Continental Divide and could get between 1 and 3 feet of snow. The storm system is expected to move in tonight.
