What I-70 ski area got the most snow in March?

A snowy end of March was doing wonders for spring snowfall in Colorado.

Beaver Creek claims the most snow in March with 74 inches (277 inches total). That’s the snowiest month of the season at the Beav and the deepest total all season for I-70 ski areas. Runner up was Arapahoe Basin in January with 72 inches.

Breckenridge claims the most snow in Summit County this March with 66 inches (274 inches total).

Other Colorado snow totals for March 2023:

  • Vail Mountain… 68 inches (283 inches total)
  • Loveland Ski Area… 58 inches (235 inches total)
  • Copper Mountain… 56 inches (271 inches total)
  • Arapahoe Basin… 46 inches (213 inches total)
  • Keystone Resort… 45 inches (214 inches total)

This coming Sunday, April 7, is closing day at Keystone. Night skiing is finished as of March 31.

Keystone will be closing with more than 214 inches total this season and a 56-inch base.

Snowpack is sitting pretty this first day of April: 107 percent of average here in Summit County, 113 percent of average across the West.

Some pockets are thinner, like Copper Mountain at 99 percent of average.

And some pockets are deeper, like Hoosier pass at 118 percent of average. The town of Blue River could have feet of snow until June!
